First Hand with Lizzie Williams As She Snags First Place at Nationals |
Starting my trip to OKC would turn out to be a journey. Andrew (my boyfriend) woke up early to make the 45 minute drive from Santa Clara to San Francisco with me. We arrived at the huge terminal and said our quick goodbyes. Now previously I had called the airlines and asked what the length limit was for carry on packages. It was 45 inches, I thought I was in the clear to go ahead and carry on my wakeskate, not quite. A security checkpoint man stopped me and asked me to go ahead and check my bag in. We got into a small argument and in the end I checked my bag in.

Spanky Beaver Stop 2 Vallejo |
Nor Cal riders Josh Wilson, Jeff Pearsall, Kathryn Medina, Brodie Chaboya, Al Marchiniak, Squirrel and Becky Carter kept the audience happy with some stylish slidin. The winches were running all day long. There were three rails side by side. There was a flat bar, an A frame and giant up flat with a slight down angle. The rails were well built and a perfect playground for the riders. Hard to say without cracking up a little, huh? This is the event that brings smiles to every one (except maybe Lizzie Williams this year, and Shane Wright last year). It's so hard to keep a straight face when your talking to someone about the event, and they ask what the name of the event is and you HAVE TO say 'Spanky Beaver's wakeboarding Jib Jam'. |

They also carry the latest ski equipment and boating necessities. Over the weekend Wakeroots put on a giant sale complete with Wakeboarding’s top vendors, team riders, BBQ's and local water sports foundations. The 2009 WWA World Championships of wakeboarding took place at CWC wakeboarding complex, just outside of Naga City in the Philippines. Two NorCal Hyperlite team riders traveled to the other side of the world to enjoy and compete. Riley Bangerter & me Al Marchiniak took the long journey (almost 15 hours in plane rides) to find out just what this whole "CWC" thing was all about. We were accompanied by Riley's wife, Cassie, and our good friend Dr. Phil Caruso (also know as DP or Doctor Phil). |

Spring Ride |
Spring Ride went down and thanks to you Hyperlite had a strong presence at an event that historically has been ruled by CWB. Shaun Murray made a guest appearance which definitely made an impact, he stayed in the booth for most of the event and his focus was promoting Hyperlite. Shaun even took it upon himself to go up and down the dock and apply Hyperlite stickers to people’s boats, Sick! At the 1st event of the season and Team Hyperlite was in full effect. Congrats to Open Division Riders; Brady Sammons (2nd) & Chris Dykmans (5th), Advanced Division Rider Colin Wirth (1st) and Intermediate Division Rider Natalie Conner (1st). Brady Sammons was asked about the event and he said it was a great time and that Hyperlite was in full force. Brady had only ridden twice this season after coming off a long and drawn out ankle injury. He wasn’t expecting much from himself but ended up without a crash and was able to pull off some of his bigger moves. Great to have you back on the water Brady. |
