A long anticipated trip to Reno finally got organized by the team to check out the Western Oasis Wakeplace. Technically this is the first cable wakeboard lake on the West Coast, and it is awesome to have it right in our backyard. Well…… I meant right in everyone else’s backyard. I had to make the 7 hour long haul from the bay area, but it was completely worth it. We got to WOW right after they opened on Saturday and was able to meet up with Lisa and Doug Lippincott. I have been designing their website for them over the past few months and it was great to finally meet them. They are fantastic people with a great vision. I was able to get a golf cart tour of the property where Lisa shared some of their future plans for the park. This place is going to be epic in its second and third stages of completion. 2 levels of water with tons of features and a towered cable system are some of the things we will be seeing in the near future. |

Towards sundown I was able to take the jet ski out and get in the action for some pics. I learned that I had waited way too long because the available light was non existent and my flash wasn’t awesome enough. So I took about 100 blurry pictures before calling it a night. Soon after, we set up our tents and started BBQ’s. In case you guys haven’t seen Brodie’s ridiculous BBQ called the “Little Guy.” You need to check it out!! It is hilarious, leave it to Mr. Chaboya to have the latest and greatest in travel sized cooking technology. Needless to say the steaks, Kabobs and weenies were delicious. After a few beers, snake hunts and some visits from a few muskrats we called it a night. |

The next morning we were moving a little slowly back on the cable and slowly we all started to pack up and head out depending on how long the drives were for each of us. It was a very successful trip and I think some of the guys are going back for round 2 next weekend. Look forward to hearing a lot of big things coming from WOW Wake in the future.
