At first, when I was following the directions down a long winding road in the foothills of Sacramento, I thought I had definitely written down the wrong directions. I hadn’t seen a house in miles and I hadn’t seen a person since the freeway exit about 8 miles in the opposite direction. But sure enough I caught a glimpse of a gigantic home in the distance with a HELICOPTER cruisin’ around. I thought to myself, NO WAY! And sure enough this was Casa De Nilsen nestled in the outskirts of the busy city of Sacramento. I could almost hear the chuckle of team captain Brodie and trusted pilot Tim as they buzzed around in the helicopter snapping video of the dirt bike action. Speaking of dirt bike action, the pictures won’t do it justice. Tim has built his very own race track complete with any feature you would see at the professional moto events. NorCal team riders Josh, Brady, Chris and Tim got sky high on the big money jump where we were able to snap a few pics. I don’t know if I had emphasized how BIG this track is, But IT IS HUGE! After an exhausting morning out on the track, we retreated to the castle that the Nilsen’s call home. This place should have been on Cribs!! No Joke, In the backyard I could smell the aroma of barbeque chicken and tri tip that the Mom and Dad Lovelace had been slaving away at all morning. This was the perfect setting to catch up with the team over a few cold beers and water for the groms. |
Also, Greg Nelson showed us a glimpse of the bright future of the Hyperlite products. That’s right! You heard me correctly, wakeboarding legends and pioneers of the sport and most recently the coolest parents ever Greg and Evelyn Nelson came to the party. We also brainstormed some ideas for an event that we might see in the near future. Keep yourself in the loop. You definitely won’t want miss this one. We wrapped up the party with some housekeeping duties including updated website photos and getting up to speed on where everyone is in life, as well as, future plans for an awesome summer 2010. Make sure to catch us at the spring ride event this year for some NorCal Hyperlite dodgeball and tons of |
